In August of last year, I celebrated my 25th anniversary with CBIZ and Mayer Hoffman McCann. People often wonder why I have spent my entire public accounting career at one firm. And the answer is simply three things - people, clients, and the not-for-profit community. I work with some of the smartest, wisest, and most generous people I know. We don't always get it right. We swing and miss on some of the decisions we make. But from leadership to the newest employee we hire, I know that our people are good. I have had the opportunity to work with great clients as well. As I often say, if we don't have clients, we don't have jobs! I have chosen to work with not-for-profit clients and the people who work in the not-for-profit sector are absolutely awesome. They fight for kids. They fight for education. They fight for immigrants placed in the metro area. And they fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. My clients are the best. And finally I love the not-for-profit community. Some are my clients. Most aren't. But what they do for the region is really good as well.
